Newsletter ideas?
In the new year I intend to give the monthly newsletter a bit of a facelift and wondered if anyone has any ideas as to what to change.
Is there anything you'd like to see included?
Anything you think we don't need?
Is it too big/small?
Should it stay exactly as it is?
Let me know your thoughts members!

Re: Newsletter ideas?
I would like to see the show reports make an apperance again. These were dropped after it was the same few people making the contribution, along with the space issue.
Anymore thoughts people???

Re: Newsletter ideas?
Space is a bit of an issue on the newsletter and I'm not sure how we can make any more! But... what if we keep it to a double-sided A4 for the printed out version and a longer, perhaps 3 or 4-pager version for email and website? If server space is an issue on the site (the PDF could end up being a meg or three) we only need have the most recent one hosted at any one time?
Also, to help fill a longer version (if we do) I was thinking of a "Mini of the month" section - some photos, a little question/answer type interview with the owner? I'm sure we could rustle up at least a year's worth of people willing to have their mini showcased in the newsletter. It'd be like being featured in MiniWorld...sort of.
Show reports - good idea Craig.
Ian, if you want to write some stuff then please feel free - I'm quite liking the idea of a larger online version of the newsletter and I reckon we'll need a few articles to put in it.

Could we post pics in the online version ? I have a vast archive scanned from all those old car mags I have. I was thinking of pics of Mini personalities and motorsport images.

I am planning to create a section on this forum for you to fill Ian (open to all members to fill obviously). ie Mini Archive. Space is the only concern I have so pics would need to be kept to a low resolution if possible.

Re: Newsletter ideas?
Just thinking out loud... How about a 'get to know your committee' article? Could have a short interview about their car history with each of the committee members over the course of a few months? Just an idea.

Re: Newsletter ideas?
I'm up for this. Many moons ago we used to feature a member and their car each month.
