Re: 29th March - Brooklands Mini Day
Come on guys, whose coming?
This is a great event and needs to be publicised more.
It was well attended by many mini clubs when I last went and I see lots are booked in for this year.
It's fabulous to see the minis doing the hill climb there, it's really steep!
Their website says there will be traders there too.
You probably know, but brooklands was the first purpose built motor racing circuit. There's a section of the banking as part of the museum and I see in the press that they have receive funding to re-do other parts of the banking. It was quite heavily bombed during the war as they made airplanes there.
Aside from the minis there's the museum itself to look around. There's lots of old cars and racing cars, a large airplane part and a bus museum.
I'll have to check what the entry fee is for brooklands.
We usually go over to Mercedes world after, which is free. There's lots of beautiful cars there, including F1 cars, plus the current merc cars. There's a cinema there (where we watche the Malaysian GP the other year), merchandise and, whilst Mercedes world is free, you can do paid driving activities there like a skid pan.
Tempted???

Standard admission to brooklands is £11 per adult, bargain for all that British history!
