Mini Jam! the Classic and Modern Mini Enthusiast’s Festival.
Mini Jam is a two day ‘love in’ for mini owners and enthusiasts, with a huge show area for all mini based vehicles. Shows-UK, the show organisers have a back catalogue of over 170 successful and enjoyable events since ‘Bug Jam’ in 1987. With overnight entertainment, club displays, dealer displays, and everything else Stonham Barns has to offer, Mini Jam will be an unmissable weekend! Dealer Displays, Trade Stands, Mini-jumble and for sale areas are all free, as is overnight camping (with a weekend ticket).
The Showground and the Stonham Barns Complex
The show includes fairground rides, a bar (with big screen mini related film and DVD all day), a Fancy Dress Disco Saturday evening, and a whole host of other things you can do on the superb site to keep you amused all weekend. The Stonham Barns complex also includes a restaurant, bird of prey centre, 9 hole golf course, two fishing lakes, crazy golf, a driving range, a ‘beach’ area, antique and craft shops, garden centre, even a post office and general store for your camping needs. It’s just a fabulous place to hold a Mini show!
Saturday Daytime
For the show itself, Saturday sees a non judged ‘Show & Shine’ display in the main arena, with commentary on individual cars, their build and history being discussed with their current owners, as well as some very mini based fun and games. An inter club Mini push Club displays will also be assembled, and the grasstrack arena will be operating for timed laps in your own car. Everyone with mini spares is free to display their wares in the Mini-Jumble, which is for non traders, (although the trade stands at the show are also free.) and you do not have to book a jumble plot in advance. The early bird will snag the best plot though!
Saturday Evening Disco – ‘The Swinging Sixties’
Saturday evening features a groovy fancy dress disco with a swinging 60′s theme, music to suit, and awards for ‘Best Male’, ‘Best Female’and ‘Best under 16′ 60′s costume. Guys Austin Powers would be pretty groovy, but maybe a cooler mod style will win you that minimag subscription for the best male costume… and Gals, it has to be the Twiggy, Mary Quant, Jean Shrimpton look.
MiniJam Sunday
Sunday is the major day of the event. The Concours/Show & Shine assembly will take place at 10am in the main arena, for judging which starts at midday. At 1pm we have the MiniJam Charity Auction, in aid of Brad’s Cancer Foundation, a specialist teenage cancer charity. We hope to raise a significant amount of money from the sale of items donated by visitors and traders. If you have anything which another mini owner might be prepared to pay money for, please bring it with you and hand it in to the information building by the showground entrance. As a major auction item from Shows-UK, we have arranged a photoshoot of your car by Matt Woods Photography for the highest bidder. Matt is a regular contributing photographer for a number of car magazines including Mini Magazine. He also happens to own one of the most awesome turbocharged minis the UK has ever seen!
Whilst the auction is under way, the concours judges will be casting their critical eyes over original and stock restored Minis produced up to the year 2000, and BMW Minis with over 100,000 recorded miles. Show & Shine judges will be assessing all other vehicles. The concours judging will produce 5 of the MiniJam trophy winners, and 5 more will come from the Show & Shine element of the display. One of these vehicles will be selected by the panel of all judges, as the overall winner, the MiniJam ‘Victor Ludorum’.
The Venue
The Mid-Suffolk Showground is at Stonham Barns, Suffolk, easily accessed via the M1/M6/A14 from many parts of the UK, via the M25/A12 from London and the South, or the A140 from deepest East Anglia. The venue has a bar and restaurant, antiques and crafts shops, as well as stores selling food and alcohol, and a lot more besides. There’s play areas for children, a golf course, fishing lakes, driving range, off-road course… just a great venue. If you wanted to come down early the venue also has a touring caravan and camping site.

Re: Stonham Barns Mini Jam 30th June to 1st July
Had a feeling that would be the case. All the mini traders are supporting gaydon.
Re: Stonham Barns Mini Jam 30th June to 1st July

Re: Stonham Barns Mini Jam 30th June to 1st July
just got back from this event after leaving early. was nice to chat to a handfull of enthusiasts, and see a few minis today (sunday) but it was empty- one trade stand, no autojumble, and saturday i think we counted 5 minis! oh well, me and the wife had a nice bbq, and wine sat eve!! and it was only 55mins away. this had the potential to be a great show, but WHY wasnt it advertised in miniworld under 'shows'? nobody i know into minis seemed to know about it!! better and earlyer advertising could lead to it getting bigger and better each year. nice venue, and ease of acess from all over e.a. (pics to follow)

Re: Stonham Barns Mini Jam 30th June to 1st July
I only found out about it through word of mouth. But it clashed with a big show at Gaydon which all the main traders support. (and tbh if I wasnt working, would of supported the gaydon show).
Alot of people seem to think you can just throw a show together, if only it was that simple!!
Glad you made the most of it though.

A lovely weekend of camping but not much of a mini event. Shame as such a nice site for a mini IMM!

gutted..
Hi. I booked this some time ago, organised a baby sitter, and been looking forward to meeting other mini owners. However, we arrived on the Saturday and there were 5 minis, no fair ground, no stalls, a small marquee for the bar. We gave it a few hours in case others turned up. Decided to get a refund and go elsewhere. Didn't want to pay a tenner each to camp in an empty feild. Might be going to the skegminifest, hopefully that will be better organised and advertised.
