Rolling road day at Snetterton 29th of September

I'm currently working under Jonathan Lewis (Current leader of the Mighty Mini Championship and former Van Diemen team boss) at Snetterton Speed shop. He has recently had a rolling road installed, but has yet to promote it other than on Facebook. With his vast history in Mini building, racing and other Motorsport ventures; he's the man to know when it comes to getting the most out of your mini while making it more reliable and drivable. The idea is to do a Power run followed by a tune up, then into a final power run with a print out of results. We'd like to make a day of it with approximately 6-8 cars, maybe a BBQ with the opportunity to hear some of Jonathan's amazing stories and to look around Team Baileys Mighty and Super Mighty Mini's. Obviously there are no plans set in stone, hence this message to see what sort of feedback we have, whether we go ahead with it. This would be competitively priced at a local venue. Hi Philip, sounds interesting. We've used Peter Baldwin in the past who has always done us proud being the legend that he is, but Snetterton is certainly a lot closer to home. Any idea on what it may cost? Like Peter, is the tune-up only available to carburetor engines, or can he tinker with spi/mpi engines too?

Me and Jonathan had a chat today, he is able to work on spi's as that is what they run in mighty mini's and he gets 98hp out of the super mighty! If we get 8 cars he'll do it for £50. That is what he normally charges for a power run alone.

Me and sue were there when they were putting in the rolling road, had a look around his mini's and had a very long chat with Jonathan, his place is very impressive and he seems to know what he is talking about. When I get round to doing mine I'll be taking mine there.

We finally have a date of Sunday the 29th of September (Thank you Sam). I will be coming to the meeting next Tuesday, but I will start taking names here now (maximum of 8 ). As you would expect it will be first come, first served, and we will be needing a £25 deposit. For those who don't get there names down quick enough, feel free to turn up on the day for the BBQ, and maybe the chance to get on the dyno if we have time. There will be drink provided, and we will charge the least we can for the BBQ probably around £2 just to cover the cost. When you put your name down, could you also let me know approximately how many people will be joining you as well as a brief overview of your car, so we know what we have coming in on the day. My car is a 1970 clubman by the way, with a M**ro 1275 engine. On twin carbs at present but will be single carb by then.
