Another rolling road day?

Hello

I was wondering if there was anyone interested if I look to organise another rolling road day (or half day) at Peter Baldwin's garage? I ask as I will need my clubby doing soon, and apart from it being fun to go with other minis it saves money too!

Our italian job is running so much better for a proper tune up, and I think the others who went to the last day were similarly very pleased. Peter really is a wizard with the engines.

Talking of Baldwin magic, I see that he has won the the Dunlop Mini Miglia Championship at Thruxton - the 6th time he has won it!

I understand that Becky and John(Burt) will be interested in coming. Shall I see if I can fix something up for October time perhaps? It will need to be a Friday again, or other week day.

Glad to see lots of interest (and from those who already know how good Peter is). Have asked Keith to put it in the newsletter to see if anyone else wants to come before I try to get it fixed up (we need 8 or 9 cars for a full day).

Do we all want a tune up? As a reminder Peter can tune carbed minis but not MPIs . He can power test anything.

I'll need deposits again and contact details from you all when we get it fixed up.

As to Anglias I'd have to ask Peter when I book it; but i'll give minis preference if there's enough interest.

I know a few more people with mini's who aren't on the forum but are in the club, who would love to come along. Also it will be a tune up for me

We have a date, Friday 12th October at 10.00 a.m. It's a club price of £400 + VAT (£480) + any needles/parts you need.

How many cars we can fit in will depend upon how long each car takes. I don't think we have any power runs, only tune ups (which take longer of course). 7 cars should be fine, perhaps 8 at a push. If it's 7 cars then it's £68.50 each, plus needles.

I'm going to be asking for deposits of £40 again. I'd like them this month, so I know we will have enough cars to fill the day. Cheque or cash, PM me for my address - I live in costessey.

Can you please post to confirm that you are still interested / can make the date?

First to pay deposits will get the places, and Saud he can do your Anglia.

Will it be o.k to come over about 14.30-15.00 as I will have to work in the morning?

At present I have heard from Sam & Becky to say they can't make it, and that the following people are still interested:

4. Saud (Bluffin)

If we have enough cars for the full day it will be 10 a.m til last car about 4ish, so afternoon should be ok Bluffin. If we don't have enough cars I may need to re-schedule or cut it to a half day.

Do we pay the full amount each, at the end of the session or at the beginning, only i have just realized that i get paid on the 12th ! So will need to get the money out!

I didn't go to the last one, but I think Mark paid at the end.

I'm asking for deposits so we know who is definately coming, so I don't end up liable for the full bill and so that the others going don't have to pay more than is fair through anyone dropping out at the last minute.

Also I don't want to mess Peter around, that's why I want to know by the end of this month (or sooner if possible).

Sorry but looks like I can't do the 12th, i've got no holiday left and i'm already having the 8th off unpaid holiday

Last time everyone paid at the end. It was a bit complicated because I was just doing a power run, but this time if it's all tune ups it should be a bit more straight forward working it out. Just remember to make a not of how much any needles/other bits cost as the day goes on.

Given that the date seems bad for most people, and Lee is the only person to have paid me a deposit, I'm proposing we postpone this say until March next year. What do we all think?

After being in touch with Lee and Sam I have cancelled the date next month in order that it can be re-arranged at the start of next year. Hope that's ok with everyone!
