break down cover

has anyone thought about breakdown cover
i have gone through the AA for cover wile we are away
the cover is for the thursday 20th of may to tuesday 25th of may
cover is for repair of car on the road side if cant be repaired towed to a garage with curtsy car and hotel acom if still not repaired towed home
the price started at £101.60 got it down to £71.12 then £65.32 and with some more tight arse pushing a final cost of £57.16
so if any body is looking to take this cover dont be affraid to haggle and if you get a better price then that well done
many companys would not cover my mini because of its age 24 years old so newer minis might be cheaper
the number for the AA is 0870 850 1502

you got a good deal there. I think my RAC already covers me for abroad. Will check tho.

Got cover through Tesco £36 for the sprite.
They will cover cars upto 16 years old

Check your small print everyone, almost all the breakdown cover will be for cars 15 years or newer, some say they'll cover older cars but there are some serious exemptions if you ask, AA and RAC seem to be the worst for not letting you know unless you ask the right questions.!!

I've been screwed and extra 10% because my car is 10 years old this year! will be sticking with the RAC cover as its a bit more comprehensive than the Tesco policy.

Finally managed to sort my breakdown cover phoned the AA and got a quote of £100 for the time we are away, so I told them that it was a tad expensive compared to alot of others so they went off to speak to the manager and I got it for £45

I am with SAGA insurance and the car was covered for Europe,it only cost me an extra £17.50 for breakdown cover while we are away.
