Which mini should I keep? Need help
Hey everyone,
I'm having second thoughts on my green mini, in that it drives so well and has so little miles on it, 40,000. The engine really is lovely!
It has some body issues but over the last few days I have been hacking away at bits and assessing what to do, I had a huge quote to fix it all properly with new panels and paint but I reckon its possible to save what is currently there, the sills haven't rotten away although there is some small holes on the lip between the bottom and top, I guess I can just fibre glass or filler it to stop water from getting in and ruining the sill.
The wings have bubbles under the headlights, the metal still seems very solid though so I'm thinking rub it down, paint it and grease behind to stop further rusting.
The other problem is the hole under the rear wheel arch leading to the fuel tank, again would mesh and fibre glass fix this?
I don't want it to be a show car, just a good looking, non rusting car
The red one has slight bubbles under the headlights and not much else. The rear subframe got an advisory in the MOT but not worried about it too much. The engine has done 80,000 miles and the bottom steadies have gone meaning it lumps around a bit, generally the engine dosent feel as strong.
I really dont know what to do too many different benefits on both, really I just want a mini that will be reliable and not fall apart, especially for Switzerland.
Anyway any help or ideas would be great.
Also took the stripes off the green MPi today which makes the choice even harder

I hate to say it but red is the most cost effective one.
the money you will spend on patching the mpi could be spent on getting the gearbox serviced/replaced.
