If you'd like to come along, which time would you prefer?
East Anglian Air Ambulance donation
As we've said over the last couple of months, we'll be making our annual donation to the Air Ambulance soon and this year we hope to make the presentation at their office/hanger at Norwich airport. As well as making the presentation they've offered us a short tour of their facilities and helicopters - hopefully the closest most of us (Craig excluded of course!) will ever get to them!
We did a similar thing several years ago and they allowed us to take some of our Minis 'air-side' and park them next to the helicopter for a nice photo opportunity. We hope to do this again but they've told us that security has tightened up in the past few years and so they're not sure if they can allow the cars air-side and will let us know closer the time. But that aside, this is a nice opportunity to see where the money we raise and donate goes to and what it provides for the people of east anglia.
So we need to decide when we would like to visit them - we have the choice of either a weekend or an evening during the week. I dare say more of us would be able to make a weekend visit, but there's more chance the helicopter might be out or be called out at the weekend. Generally they don't fly after dusk so a weekday evening would almost guarantee the helicopter is there for us to see and get photographed next to. There's also a limit of 20 people they are allowed to have on a tour of their facilities, but first lets get an idea of which time slot is better for the most people - weekday evening or weekend daytime. Then we'll figure out when and who, so get voting!

Re: East Anglian Air Ambulance donation
I've voted weekend, mainly because, if we go in the evening, it'll be getting more darker through the evening, so time we get there, they'll be rushing the tour and picture because of the lighting conditions, but in the daytime, theres more time, and more people may be available..

Weekend would suit me better, as we,ve not been to a presentation before we would like to be included and show our support.

Just had a reminder from the EAAA about this, if anyone has yet to vote and would like to do so, please get clicking asap. I'll start to try and arrange a date in the next couple of weeks.

Re: East Anglian Air Ambulance donation
Ok, so what does everyone think about Sunday October 3rd? Don't think we have any shows on, Craig is back from holiday(?) and there's a chance the weather will still be nice(ish).
I'll suggest this to the EAAA people tomorrow when I email them unless anyone has any objections?

yep happy with that, although I'll only attend if there is a shortfall in numbers, if we're having to restrict people I'm happy to step aside

Re: East Anglian Air Ambulance donation
I emailed them and suggested October 3rd and that wasn't so good for them. They've come back and suggested Sunday October 17th at 11am.
Now we didn't have anything on that day until this turned up in our inboxes at the weekend.
So what do we think? Have some Treasure Hunt fun and ask for another date, or go for the tour/presentation on the 17th?

Re: East Anglian Air Ambulance donation
I really dont know, I think the treasure hunt would be good, however not sure I can afford £32 for a treasure hunt. Will have a chat with Lee, however if we keep going back to EAAA they are going to think we are being picky.

Re: East Anglian Air Ambulance donation
I will be in Spain on the 17th, but, wouldn't have done the treasure hunt as I have history with the organisers. (each to their own I spose)
I say take the 17th and get the presentation done.

Re: East Anglian Air Ambulance donation
Ok, so we're booked in for a tour of the hanger at 11-11:15am on Sunday October 17th. We've set a maximum of 20 people as with more than that they need to get an extra member of staff in. But if lots more than 20 do want to come we might be able to persuade them to accomodate.
So lets get a list going...
