Yes I confess, I wuz there.
I bought a couple of Decca Tom Jones LP's, from before he went Las Vegas and am listening to them as I write, some DVD's, some books including one on the Vietnam war and a Stranglers CD.
There was a stall selling military memorabillia, but I baulked at buying a yellow Waffen SS armband !
I will make a few observations about car boot sales. If 1980's music is so good why is is it being offloaded in huge quantities at car boot sales ?
Answer; because eighties music was crap ! It was the triumph of marketing over substance, where image was more important than sound.
Also at car boot sales there are copious amounts of what I would call cash-in products. Stuff marketed to tie-in with some hip TV show in an effort to extract every last penny from the public until we finally tire of it. X-File books anyone ?

For the younger ones out there, we used to buy music on a vinyl record which spun round on a turntable which then had a needle on an arm, which extracted the sound, put on it.

Everyone connected to Elton John is a brown dirt cowboy.. Wink

I still buy my music on LP, Arctic Monkeys sound so much better being played on dad's old record player..

In 1983 we were introduced to the wonderful world of CD's , which because they sounded crap, have had to be remastered every 5 years in an effort to resell the same product and extract more money from us. This Elton John LP sounds perfectly good, even taking into account that it is an Elton John record.......

Every decade since the fifties is guilty of that, when it comes to pop/chart music. From the created rock & rollers of the late fifties (Billy Fury Marty Wild) to the X factor pap. The public wants what the public gets.

I forgot to mention that at the car boot sale you could have bought the autobiographies of Martine McCutcheon, Kerry Katona and David Dickinson.......

A David Dickinson autobiography at a car boot sale - is that irony?

How the f**k has that fat cow got a bloody autobiography??

It must be the most boring book, ever..

"Married some bloke from Westlife, got divorce, had child, done drugs, eat, eat, eat, eat, eat.."

Oh, if anyone hasn't gathered, I can't stand her..

I'm now listening to the LP "Bridge over Troubled Water" by Simon and Garfunkel, bought for peanuts. God knows how many times the CD version has been remastered.

I is now listening to a Music For Pleasure LP "Lennon and McCartney Tijuana Style" which although is terminally groovy, sounds like something out of a bad sixties film.
