For the Scalextric fans Empty For the Scalextric fans

Heard about this on the radio today...

This weekend it's the Pendle Slot Racing Festival at Brooklands museum and they intend to break the record for the longest Scalextric track - 2.75MILES!

Don't miss an attempt by James May to break the Scalextric World Record by recreating the Brooklands racetrack in Scalextric, to be featured on BBC2 in James May's Toy Stories. Over 20,000 pieces of Scalextric will be laid and it will be a real challenge to get power and control to all sections of the track. On completion, two teams, one from the local community and one from Scalextric Club members and enthusiasts, will race around the 2.75 miles, which will include the historic Members' Banking on the Museum site.

It's following the old race track which has since been partially demolished, built on and crossed by roads. So they're having to take the track through two offices and close 2 roads to hold the race! There's dozens of car batteries around the track to supply the power but what happens when the inevitable break in the circuit happens? Which poor b4stard has to check all 20,000 connections??
