Jamie's Run - Easter Monday (13th April)
Anyone thinking of doing this run? I thought I might because it gives me an excuse to visit my brother and his family as it's starting in Norwich and finishing in Braintree this year. Here's the email I got from East Coast MC:
East Coast Mini Club:
Heya! We hope you are well and enjoying the recent change of weather with your Mini!
This is just a reminder for all of you that Jamie's Run 4 is almost upon us! I can't believe how quick this run has come around again, and we're all very excited about the response we've had. We're looking at a great turnout of every kind of Mini to be there on the day to join in the fun.
If you've not signed up, it's still not too late! In fact, if you decide on the morning of the run that you would like to come along, then feel free!
Here's the link to the forum section dedicated to the run:
http://www.eastcoastminiclub.co.uk/index.php?showforum=44
There may be a few convoys arranged so you can travel to the run start point with other members in convoy, check the Jamie's Run Area for details.
If you're unsure about the run, here's a few details to help:
The starting point is:
Mcdonalds
Longwater Retail park
Costessey
NR5 0TL
Here you will find lots of Minis and your breakfast!
Please aim to arrive here by 10:00am as we will be Starting the run at 10:30am. The route will take you through some great roads in Norfolk, Cambs and Essex, to finish in Braintree for a late lunch, with plenty of photo opportunities on the way!
There is a fee of £5 per car, which is to be donated to the East Anglian Air Ambulance . If there is any problems with this then we will ask for a smaller donation. All cars who pay the suggested amount of £5 will receive a free commemorative run sticker.
Please bring the correct money if possible, along with some extra for the raffle, details of what's in the raffle will be posted in the Jamie's Run Area of the forum.
One final point, if you have a two-way radio then bring it with you, as you will find them really handy on the run.
The run should also be featured in Mini Mag, and Modern MINI magazines.

We have to enter a password, which we don't know, to gain access to the file.

Re: Jamie's Run - Easter Monday (13th April)
Hope everyone got home safely after a great day of driving.
Thanks to Gumball for protecting my rear end on the A12 after loosing my electrickery. (not good when you've just pulled intot he fast lane at 70ish) stupid battery terminal.
Me and Lee had a slight hold up nr Ipswich when a biker decided to go flying into the trees!! The 5 bikes had only passed us a matter of minutes before. Hopefully he's ok. There was already loads of people on the phones to the emergency services.
I'll sort through my pics asap.
This is a following email taken from ECMC :-
Hey all, just got home and re-totted the takings from today.......... It breaks down a bit like this..
Run Entry donations = £245.00 (Thanks to those who put a little extra - very nice of you)
Raffle = £217.00 (thanks to Wendy-MiniMum for organising & to all who gave us a prize to give away)
Online Auction Items = £17.00 (thanks MiniMum & Cambiker71 )
Extra Stickers = £3.00 (I've still got 10 if anyone wants one, PM me and it'll cost you £1 posted;) )
That made the total £482 , we couldnt let it get so close to £500 and not do it.......... so a few of us had a whip round of our spare change etc and added a further £19.62
Making Todays total raised £501.62
Once again a huge thanks to everyone involved in the organisation of today, everyone who gave something to the raffle and most importantly everyone who turned up and gave their time and money in memory of two people close to the hearts of East Coast Mini Club - Jamie Bailey & Chris Toms.
The money should be paid over to the East Anglian Air Ambulance within the next week , once we have received confirmation of the donation we will make it available for everyone to see .
Thanks again everyone
