Castle Acre 08/06

Theres a Classic car rally at Castle Acre, nr Swaffham on Sunday 8th June. Starts at 10.30am, cost £7 per car.

I think its being held by the Austin A7 club, billed as an "Allsorts Rally",

Its just roumd the coner from me so I'm going to give it a look.

I'll probably pop along in the Jag.

I think we should all support Johnnie by attending this event if we can as he is now on the committee.

I am unable to attend even though its only the next village to mine.

we may very well go to have a look but could you let us know about where it is and if we would all meet up somewhere before?

Castle Acre is a small village just outside Swaffham on the Fakenham road. We dont have much info on the rally apart from what has been posted. You maybe able to arrange a meet up at Swaffham (maybe the McD's on the A47)

Hopefully the weather will be kind for it.

The Castle Acre show may be a non-starter as it’s not well publicized. Only travel if you fancy a drive out.
I will however stop for a nutritious breakfast at the Swaffham Mc Ds at 09.00ish so if anybody wants to join us in a cup of warm dirt and some processed unmentionable animal parts please jump on in?

It is advertised in Classic Car Weekly so I assume the other classic rags have been informed.

I Shall be popping along with 'The YETTI' as it's also just up the road from me. I'll drop by McD's on my way past 9-9.30ish

Well, that wasn't one to add to the list. Got there about 10.15 (after a long and merry jaunt around every single road in Castle Acre) to be greeted by a chap mowing a small patch of field and a half a dozen or so "classics". Apparently not open yet!
After a quick walk around the village. We returned and decided that as nothing else seemed to be turning up, discretion was the better part of valor and retreated before we got charged the £7 to park on the specially mown grass.
No stalls or even a bloody Ice-cream van, so I was keeping my hand in my pocket.

Sorry Ian, I didn't have your number so couldn't ring you to ensure you didn't make a pointless journey.

Still Chendi and I went on a little Mini adventure to Wells where we met up with the POSH club at the tail end of their Peterborough to Wells run. So not a totally wasted morning,

I did have a wasted journey. I got there at 1 pm to find about a dozen classics. The "event" wuz badly signposted on roads that were narrow for a Mini, let alone a Jaguar.
