A NEW MINI

HELLO ALL,

I have a friend who's got a new mini cooper its approx 6 years old, and its a 1.6 automatic

its now only selects 1st gear only, she had taken it to bmw, and they have put it on the diagnostic and its come up with zitch!!!! nothing, and then they charge her 400.00.

then they reakon it need a new gearbox at a supply and fit for 4k yes 4k??

So does anyone know anything about these ot recommend someone who know whats they are talking about, as bmw in norwich seemed to have spent most of the time scratching there *rse's!!!

Herring & Palmer on Hall Road (just behind Tuckswood Texaco/McDonalds) are BMW specialists (or so the sign outside says), don't know if that extends to Minis though. When we had a Beemer a few years back we took it there and they were always good to us. 01603 666585

She could always try a Peugeot specialist as thats the engine bmw now use for the Bini
