Just had a thought.
What do people think the best and worst thing about the mini design is
Ill start with the ash tray what a waste of time has any of the smokers ever tried to ash in a mini while its on the move you get more ash on the carpet then in the ash tray.
I love the way all 4 wheels are set in the corners to give it wicked handling.

I read that all minis have ashtrays because Issigonis was a chain smoker, and the original minis never had radios as he also hated listening to music while driving..

Actually, I would agree with Leigh, but for different reasons.. It's strange because the ashtray isn't in the middle of the top rail, look at it, and you'll notice it's not level with the clock below.. Suspect

Why is it that when you hit a big puddle in a mini the water covers the windscreen instead of pushing out like all other cars ??

That's because the wheels are so close to the front of the car. As you drive into the puddle it splashes in all directions, including forwards. In most cars this just hits the underside of the front of the car but in your Mini you effectively drive into the splash while it's in mid air.

The ash tray - you mean the one on the floor between the seats? This was handy in my first Mini when I used to park up with my mates and smoke - passing the ash tray around meant no burns in the carpet.

As for my answer...

The bad: no 5th gear for the longer journeys
The good: pretty much everything else!

The worst points about the Mini are the crudity of the engineering , its ability to rust into horse droppings in five minutes , which is expensive to remedy , and its lack of refinement. Apart from that, they're grrreeeeaaaattttt !!!!

My friend was in my car today, and he said he really thinks minis are brilliant, as they're compact on the inside, and even though they're small, there's alot of headroom.
