Re: Norfolk Gala 06/09/09
Unfortuantly I will no longer be bringing my mini to this event so it seems
This evening I heard a strange knocking noise from the front when going round the roundabout.
So I got home and got my dad to take it for a spin just to check it over, however on
closer inspection it seems that the front subframe is moving when I turn the steering wheel from side to side.
My dad has decided that it would be a unsafe to carry on using the car until we can take a proper look.
We are suspecting that it has something to do with the subframe mountings but haven't had a chance to take a look in daylight yet.

I am really hoping it is something simple to be honest, what with all this distributor stuff still to fit

You could be RIGHT there Alex.
Also check the teardrops on the front of the subframe too and the tiebar bushes..
You may find that the Steering rack U clamps might be loose.. they are inside on the bulk head..the ones that are vertical.. dont over tighten them though.
If you get stuck we will be at the show ground at 3pm ish and we will have tools and spares..

Re: Norfolk Gala 06/09/09
Another fantastic couple of days!
The company of so many great people is what makes it special.
Learnt lots about taking mini's to bits and getting them back together again too
Saturday evening/night was brilliant! Im still trying to remember the jokes!
Really really wish I could come to Stanford Hall but I will have to wait until Kings Lynn run!
THANKS EVERYONE!
