Hey guys

Asked about a mini on piston heads, http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/732481.htm

The car was advertised cheap so though it was worth a crack.

Heres comes the scam/ sorry meant the reply lol

Hi,
Thank you for your email. I can tell you that the car is in perfect condition. Never involved in accidents. I take good care of it and I can tell you for sure that if you will purchase the car from me you will be more then satisfied with it. It runs great and it comes with all the original papers and documents. I am selling this car for the listed price including delivery anywhere in UK.I set at a "very, very low" price to guarantee a sale. The only reason is that I need cash for a family emergency. I have to tell you that I'm currently out of town with some major problems so pick up/view is not an option. If you want to buy this vehicle email me back with your full name and address to start the official procedure trough PistonHeads. They will send you a notification with ALL the info regarding delivery, purchase protection and refund policy so please provide your details before more questions. You will find 90% of answers in that notification from Pistonheads!
Thanks

Do they think we are stupid lol

Anyway I thought I will start having some games with this guy, Let see how stupid he is..

My reply:

Hi
Thanks for getting back to me.

My name is Mike Litoris

No3 labia Street
Sphincter
Kent
KL1 1TT

I look forward to hearing from you, can you please tell me if the power steering is ok on this mini?
Can you also tell me if all the panels are original without any Plasticine in them?

Do you need the money sent via bank transfer? I'm with Northern rock, But would like to send the money through Bradford and Bingley as they have an excellent National record for transfering money. Is this ok?

Many thanks
Mike

Piston heads have removed the advert. Guess they are on the ball for this type of thing.

Sent him this:

Hi I have the payment details and will get this sorted out.

Can you verify again that the power steering is good, Its very important to me that this works well.
Also is the flux capacitor working? You can find this by looking into the engine bay at the top right corner. (small yellow box)
Not far from the power steering pump and the 4 wheel drive selector union.

I would prefer to send the money by bank transfer ideally, Does it have to be western union?

Just got this:

Hi Mike,

The power steering is good, also you will be able to see and test the car because you will have 3 days for inspection of the car . So , after the payment is done you will receive the car and only after the inspection is done I will be able to receive the payment . If you find something wrong with the car you can send it back and PistonHeads will refund your money.
Thanks

PS: When you'll go at WU to send the money please don't tell the WU employee what for are the money because if you tell them that you are buying something over the net they will not let you to send the money because WU is made to send money to friends or family , so when you'll go there just tell them that you are sending this money to a friend.

Oh dear lol
Im going to push him for info on that flux capacitor, After all what good is a classic mini without time travel?

I wonder if anyone ever falls for this stuff?

Just sent him this:

Hi Mate

Unfortunately the WU office is closed until Monday, I will send it then.

Is it ok to ask a couple of questions please?

The flux capacitor must be working for interstellar travel. Does the flux capacitor work ok?
Do the wheels on the bus go round and round?
Does the engine start first time? Or do you have to crank the handle a couple of times?

How will you ship the car to me? Can you send it signed for special delivery please?

Thanks for all your help, The money will be with you soon.

Mike Litoris

I guess people do fall for it for this scam to still be so prominent.

I think its peoples greed that they prey on, The thought of buying a £5k car for £1800 and making loads of profit clouds any sensible judgement they had left.
This is probably why the scammer doesnt get reported for it as the buyer would feel shame and ridiclule.

I think you have to be the lowest of the low to do this to people Mad

It's a variation of the good old advance fee fraud.

You've done a little scam-baiting there Shaun, perhaps you should join forces with the professionals
