Yes, I saw this the other night - or rather I saw the second half and at the end they did a recap and I saw they'd been talking about the Mini. Thanks for the reminder to watch it in full!

Well I hope you all took the opportunity to watch this programme.
I can now reveal that I had a small part in the making of the programme .
The producer Richard Bee contacted me via AR Online to ask for my help . I was able to point him in the direction of Tony Ball , who has his own website and Geoffrey Iley , now a Towcester town councillor after a career with BMC and Triplex . Also I pointed out that back in 1979 the BBC made a documentary , 'Mini' , to mark 20 years of the car .
The price of my assistance was to gain posession of a DVD copy of this very documentary fronted by Raymond Baxter and featuring interviews with Alec Issigonis , Lord Stokes , Peter Sellers etc.
The DVD arrived today and it was fantastic .
The only problem now is working out how to make copies ........

Well done! I was going to offer but...

I wouldn't mind a rip of it if you don't mind lending it to me?

Okay , now I can't get the DVD burner to work . It just keeps rejecting my TDK DVD-RW disks, saying they are invalid . Is it me or the disks ? Are 9 out of 10 faulty ?

I have a copy with your name on it .
I had to get my local computer shop to knock off come copies . Mick , the guy who did it for me , said Lord Lucan was on the DVD , but I think he was in reality referring to Lord Snowdon ...,.....

Lord Lucan - LOL!

Cheers Ian.

As for the DVDs, it is possible to get 9 out of 10 bad - I've had some packs which have been like that, although they're normally the cheapest of the cheapest from some dodgy bloke on eBay. It could be your writer - mine no longer burns dual layer discs, only single layer, but they're normally fairly reliable.
