Help needed with mini welding Empty Help needed with mini welding

Hi there,

Somehow my girlfriend persuaded me to buy her a mini off eBay (bad start already)
It failed it's MOT on some small things initially (brakes, general electrics and jacking points)
Brought it back and I fixed all the electrical and brakes, booked it in with a garage to have the jacking points welded up and re MOT'd
Got a phone call saying it failed on the jacking points and it also needs;

Inner and outer sills all round,
Step sill drivers side,
Rear valence drivers side,
Plate in boot floor.

Managed to finally get enough to have the work done, upon starting it the rear valence also needs to be replaced!

All in all I am now out of cash. No welding has been done and I would like to know of a place (or person) who could do the welding for me. (I am in Norwich)

Having been stung by buying my first ever mini on eBay, a £700 bill on top just was too much...
Thanks for all your advice.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Sorry to here your first Mini is turning out to be a bit of an *rse - persevere though, you'll be glad you did in the end!

I'm in Norwich but I wouldn't trust me with a welder. I do have a couple of options for garages that might do the work but whether it would come in much under £700, I don't know. I've used Thorpe Body Repairs on Salhouse road before, they're pretty good.

There are some handy club members around here though, hopefully one might be along soon...
