mini battery

hi .can anybody tell what the best battery is for there mini ? i have used the standard type 038 before and didnt think much off it ! heard of people using pug 306 diesel batteries??? The type 015 as a replacment to the standard or even 063 or 076 , i dont know any ideas , just want something powerful enough to run the alarm , the spots , the stereo, amps and start on a winters morning !! confused

For what you have said you are running in your car I would say none of the above.

As you state you need a battery that will deep-cycle for the alarm and extras.
You also will require something that is capable of delivering great discharge rates for the amps and starting.

My recomendation would be the 4.2 Blue or Yellow top dual starting and deep cycle batteries from Optima. (the twin post models are handy for ICE)

Hope this helps.

Ps check your earth lead and alternator before replacing batteries if they are draining flat.

Thanks for that, earth lead is new and will be running with a metro turbo alternator (£40 from lucas bargain )so no prob there cheers Darren

I have an uprated alternator marketed by Mini Spares. I've had no problems since I fitted it.
