Speedo Trouble
Hello,
I have been driving my clubman around for a few days after getting her through the MOT, however the other day the speedo has packed up, i have connected a drill to the transmission end and the speedo head and cable is working fine, i reconnected the cable and it worked for a bit, then it packed stopped again. would any one have any ideas on what could be casuing this?
Many Thanks
Chris Brown

Hi Chris
Sorry for the slow reply.
This sounds like the worm gear has wear in it as you said it worked for a while and then stopped.
The worm gear is held in by a small flat plate and a bolt.
Remove this and check for any wear.
Replace if needed. Minisport stock these and I believe Avonbar does too.
Try this and let me know how you get on
Re: Speedo Trouble
Cheers, for you help,
i removed the speedo pinion and it did not appear to have any wear, however i decided to purchase a new one anyway and its working fine now, thanks for your help.
