Engine building service.
I recieved this today, thought it may be of use to some people.
Craig
My name is Peter Valentine and I live in Earith.
I have been involved with building and preparing Minis for both competition and road use since 1963 and, now that I have retired from my business I have decided to offer an engine building service at sensible prices for Mini enthusiasts from my home in Earith, near Huntingdon, Cambs.
Up until now I have built engines for my own rally and road cars and for those of fellow competitors, but now I wish to offer this service to other fellow Mini enthusiasts.
Hello Craig
Each engine is built to a pre-agreed specification after discussion as to desired use or the type of competition to be entered. I am happy to handle every type of Mini engine from an early 850 (I'm about to do one of these for myself), through all the 998's up to big-bore 1275 units.
In addition I gas-flow the heads, re-bore the block, grind the crank, re-build very accurately. My work is 'thorough' as I'm a former aerospace engineer, so quality and reliability are foremost. I do not and will not condone any form of 'bodging'. If a job is not right, then it's wrong!
In addition I am happy to do other Mini-related mechanical work such as reconditioning of rear radius arms, suspension re-builds, caliper re-builds, etc.
My hourly charge rate is about half of that charged by garages.
Details of this business are as follows:
Cooperman Engine Services,
8a Colne Road,
Earith,
Near Huntingdon,
Cambridgeshire, PE28 3PX
Tel: 01487 841653/07770 815710
This is a genuine service from a Mini enthusiast for other Mini enthiusiasts.
Please contact me if you need any further information. I am happy to collect and deliver complete engine assemblies.
I have attached a couple of photos of my own Mini rally cars, all completely built by me. The red 1964 Cooper 'S' is pictured on the Sculthorpe tests on the East Anglian Classic Rally, which this car won outright in 2002. The black car is on the RAC Revival Rally.
Kind regards,
Peter Valentine
