Garden find in Dereham
I was approached in Dereham today by a lad who has a 1975 850 in his back garden.
I had a look round it, its scruffy but reasonably solid on a quick inspection, looks as you would expect a longish term stander to. Will need body work but certainly not completely rusting away. The floor has had quite a lot of attention in the past. Possibly in better starting order than some of the projects taken on by Tim and Rob over the last few weeks.
Its a standard looking 850 engine, I didn't attempt to start it. It has had a recentish head gasket and he does have a water pump and a few new spares to go with it.
Wellers on 10's. Make no mistake this is far from a drive away job, but, I recon its worth restoring to get a tax exempt Mini.
The guy wants £300 for it, although I recon he'd talk if somebody made a sensible offer. He has a log book.
If I wasn't going on holiday in 3 weeks it would be on my drive now, but, there you go.
If any club member wants the contact details pm me.
Heres a riddle for ya.......Its in Dereham, guess what colour it is?

Hey Daniel, Mr Galea is okay, but a red mini? Hmmm
Only kidding, my minis have to be blue,/grey/sliver and look different colours on dull days.

Re: Garden find in Dereham
We are deciding on colours to paint Liz's white mini. Metalflake orange is one of the front runners. Hope that wouldn't be classed as red. If so would we have to change clubs
