Newark Mini Show - 12th Oct

Anybody fancy this new show. Held at Newark showground (same place as the autojumble).

probably to late for a clubstand now but we could take the drive over there.

sound like it could be a good run out.....

How far is it to Newark.....?

Its approx 110 miles from norwich. basically the showgroaund is just by the A1 motorway. A nice steady drive along the A17 dodging all the gatso's onroute.

I'm up for it. I will even take the Mini !

I will be on my own for this one,
could have a co-driver or be a co-driver in someones mini..?

You can come with me. If Wingnut wants to come as well, we can take the Jaguar.

Wingnut can travel with me if he wants to go.

The Newark Mini Car Show

The Show: The Newark Mini Car Show is a gathering of Clubs and Private Enthusiasts as well as Trade Stands and Autojumble Stands, where the public can go and buy parts for their mini cars as well as having a chance to see the many fully restored classic cars on display.

The Venue: The Newark and Notts Showground is a well known local venue ideal for the display of mini’s, with traders and autojumblers traveling from all over the British Isles to attend, as well as enthusiasts traveling from all over the Three Counties and indeed neighbouring counties to attend this event which is the largest of its type in the East of England.

The Clubs: There will be displays from clubs, both local and from other regions mounting displays, including Mini Diddlers, Mini Marcos OC, Notts about Minis and Mini Rebels etc

Private Entries: In addition to the 100+ Club vehicles on display 200 private individuals will be attending the show to display their cherished classic cars outside the halls at Newark. There will be an arena and commentator judging the vehicles in various sections all day.

Categories: There are categories for pre 1960 minis, 1960-65 mini’s and every five-year time span up to the present day. All mini’s cars arriving on the day are welcome to take part in the display rather than park in the public car park, and will be able to take part in the judging in any of these sections, although owners who have not pre-booked for discounted entry will be charged the normal customer admission price on the day.

As Well As: There will be a concours competition with prizes & trophies in all the above categories, plus highly commended rosettes. There will also be a ‘best club display’ and overall concours winner.

I just want to say what a great day out it was today.
The journey to Newark is probably one of the more enjoyable Mini drives.

I'll second that.

Excellent day. The A17 can be a bit boring, but does make a refreshing change to the A14.

Next Newark mini show is April I believe.

plus the added bonus of a prime location indoor clubstand!!

The A14 is fun by Jaguar !
