GUMBALL III full details
Well folks here it is the full details of this years Gumball Run!!!!
This year its a real challenge if you want it to be. The run is split into 3 stages and I am happy to announce has a supprise support from a high profile local who is also celebrating a big aniversary this year.
YES folks this GUMBALL is by royal appointment (more details to follow)
Right here well go
EASTER SUNDAY 8th April 2012
Kick off 9.00am sharp from Cromer Car-park
Please fill up at the Morrisons Garage before coming to the start point as this will help no end in keeping the convoy in one piece
The first stage is approx 73 miles from Cromer to Harleston. We have timed it at 2hrs including time for a couple of laps around Yarmouth for a spot of traditional Chav Baiting.
We finish at the Budgens car-park in Harleston for a 15 minute leg stretch and toilet stop and to pick up anybody who wishes to join the run from here.
Onto stage two
This is another 75 mile section that takes us up into north Norfolk. There is a fuel stop near Lynn.
We end this section at 13.30 in Sandringham Country Park on the Royal Estate where they have kindly agreed to sectioning off a grassed area for us where we can park as a group and enjoy a good old fashoned picnic.
Please bring your wicker baskets, weak fruit based cordials and cucumber sandwiches with you.
We intend to stay for one hour eating and making merry, raffling, laughing and general high jinxing before commencing the final stage at 14.30
Final desination will be reached at 16.00 (Allowing for a quick Parking Attendant baiting in Wells)
200 miles or as close as it matters, and a perfect way to check your car for the coming year.
Please complete as much or as little as you can manage. There will be damn classy and limited edition certificates for those that complete the whole thing.
If you want to meet up on route thats just fine
If you want to just come for a picnic thats just fine
If you'd rather go to the garden centre you're possibly in the wrong club
£5 per car, however much you do with all proceeds going to a stroke charity
WELL WHO'S BRAVE ENOUGH???????????????

Re: GUMBALL III full details
Deal, I will of couse do my best to get the mini going again. I need to get my battery sorted and get the engine running better, it keeps coughing and spluttering, but I'm back on the 30th so plenty of time to get it alive and well again

Re: GUMBALL III full details
I'll be there for the whole thing and hope to do some kind of film of the whole thing in a time-lapse kinda way.
Note for Harry - I've just bought a skeleton case for my GoPro which allows it to be charged while clamped in. Recharging will come from my PowerMonkey which should give it over 8 hours of life - hopefully, I've not tested the combo yet.

You got one Keith!! Are you loving it? I will bring mine too if you like to get some other angles and can then give you all the footage. The Skeleton case does sound like a good idea.

Rather optimistically I am hoping to take my car to this, after all she did get back from Preston - but not without her problems....

Re: GUMBALL III full details
In memory of Tim, who's top work (along with Leigh) ensured Tommy stayed on the road I think that contractually obliges us to attend each and every year, so COUNT US IN FOR A MINI CONVOY!!
I'd like to tick the box for the whole experience please!

Re: GUMBALL III full details
Well seeing as my mg seems to have killed itself temporarily and the mini has once again saved the day by somehow sorting its misfire on its own I think I will be attending mini powered. my mini has been my most reliable car yet. They really are tough little things.

We will need to keep an eye on the situation.
Thers no strike even annonced at the moment just stupid people following advice from their even stupider leaders.
Lets see how it pans out

Re: GUMBALL III full details
A Google Maps link for those wanting to study the route in more detail can be found here (I think I've got all the roads right, but can't be 100% sure)
According to Google (ie. take with pinch of salt):
Cromer - Harleston: 65 miles, 2hrs 20mins
Harleston - Sandringham: 72 miles, 2hrs 10mins
Sandringham - Cromer: 45 miles, 1hr 45mins
A: Cromer
B: Harleston
C: Sandringham
D: Cromer
