Great pics. The red Rover SD1 had a 5-3 litre engine.......
The blue Allegro is owned by the Reverend Colin Corke, vicar of the parish of Longbridge.

Now that I can smurf the net again here are some of my pics.

The BMC ADO16 1100/1300. Britains best selling car of the 1960's in all its guises and the ancestor of todays Golf/Astra/Focus class.
Full details here.

The important thing is we must not be disparaging of other peoples tastes. Some people think we are crazy for liking Mini's, a badly built, badly designed rust bucket !
Us classic car owners have to stick together to stop politicians demonising us as pollutants and destroyers of all life on earth. Some people would like to ban pre-1992 cars from town centres.
A lot of people in this country earn a living from the classic car movement.

Re: Peterborough BMC Show
The Austin Maxi was Alec Issigonis's last design to reach production.
A curates egg, parts of it were brilliant and innovative for 1969. It was the worlds first front wheel drive, 5 speed, 5 door hatchback and had a cavernous load carrying capacity.
But parts of the Maxi were bloody awful. Terrible gearchange, boxy styling and initial unreliability which came with all new BMC cars.
Full details here
http://www.aronline.co.uk/ado14storyf.htm
And you can decide for yourself whether Issigonis really is Greek for genius.....

Re: Peterborough BMC Show
The third Issigonis FWD car was the 1800/2200 series of 1964 to 1975. It was literally a scaled up Mini.
It was a flop.
Details here.
