Re: IMM 2008 - Holland
We are now listed on the imm website as attending with a clubstand. It looks like the boys and girls from POSH (Peterborough) are also attending so will pop them an email to see if we're on the same ferry.
If so then theres the possibilty of a nice convoy to the port.

World Record attempt
Guinness World Record attempt
Written by Dutch Mini People
vrijdag, 25 januari 2008 During the IMM 2008 we will offer you the opportunity to enter the largest parade of Minis in the world.
On Sunday 11th May, during the IMM 2008, we are aiming to break the Guinness World Record for the largest parade of Minis. This attempt has been officially registered with the Guinness World Records organisation and will be scrutinised by a team of officials.
The current Guinness World Record is 973 Minis and dates from August 2001. We are going to try to set a new record of at least 1500 Minis, both classic and new Mini. The idea is for as many Minis as possible to drive in convoy along a route near the IMM 2008 location. The route will be closed to other traffic and marshals will be used.
We also have to ensure that the record attempt conforms to certain conditions in order to qualify for official recognition.
How many Minis do we need?
We need at least 973 to break the current record. We're expecting 1500 Minis but hoping for nearer 2000.
Which Minis can take part?
All Minis ever produced by the manufacturer. This includes all Minis manufactured by: Austin, Morris, Mini, British Leyland, BMC, Rover, Innocenti, Authi, BMW, etc.
Can Mini related vehicles take part?
In theory all Minis marketed by the manufacturer under various brand names can take part. This means that Classic Minis, Mokes, Riley Elfs, Wolsley Hornets, New MINIs, etc. all count towards the record. Kitcars such as Marcos, Midas, Scamp, Freestyle and other derivatives unfortunately won't count towards the record, but are welcome to take part in the parade as they are based on the Mini. All participants will get a unique rally plate.
When is it taking place?
On Sunday 11th May, during the IMM 2008. The record attempt will start at 10:00 am. We know this is a bit early for some of you, but you can get coffee and it means that you will be back in time to spend the rest of the day at the IMM.
Where is the start?
The RDW test centre in Lelystad, where the IMM 2008 is being held.
Where will the parade go?
A route around the area near the IMM site.
Is it safe?
Yes, the parade will be fully marshalled.
How much does it cost to take part?
If you are attending the full weekend of the IMM, then participation in the record attempt is free. Those purchasing a day ticket for the IMM ( 15 euro in advance or 17.50 euro on the gate) can also register for the record attempt at an additional cost of 3 euro. All participants will get a unique rally plate.
Are there any other requirements?
Please refer to the rules & regulations / disclaimer here.
How can I register?
