Judge went 100% with me on this which is great.. once I sort the money side out (ie if he appeals etc) Tommy looks to be back on the road a tad sooner!!!

Wehey!!
Well done!!

Are you going to keep the checkered roof?
And is Tommy going to go back to the colour he was when you bought him?

Thanks, Yes and Yes.... Trying to keep him fairly original with the colour plus we quite like the roof!!

Not getting much time on him at the moment. Finished the inner wing repair on the other side - just need to fit a step repair (probably just the outer lip which has rusted away to nothing) and pop the sill back on then the car is finished up to the front windscreen. About to put in an order for all the front panels and front brakes...

Got out into the garage today for the first time in a few weeks. Pleased to see the car is still there, so carried on!

The edge of the drivers side door step is pretty bad (the main step is fine, just the edge) and not much use for welding back to the sill so got a cheapy repair panel and cut just edge bit off.

Now have a house full of heritage panels ready for the front - not sure about tackling this unaided (paranoid about getting it wonky!!) so have called on Gumball's expert help.....

Court update - got confirmation the garage has until July 30th to pay up or it's bailiff time! (suspect he'll come back with anything to delay..)

The old edge - basically various shapes of rust!

Cut out the worst ...

And cut a new piece the same size, measured it with the sill and tacked it in.. I'll finish this off tomorrow..

Had a good day today .... finished off the second sill, then it was grinding and cutting time!!!

Took the front off the car - full of filler and rust!!

Now need to tidy this up, remove the scuttle, fit new brakes etc ready for Gumball's help in a few weeks to fit a whole new front end..... the end is in sight....!!

Started work on cleaning up the inner wings today.... some holes to get rid of as well!

Court Update - nothing heard from the guy I got the car off, so now sending in the bailiffs!!!

Where the shock attaches.....

Cleaned out and painted

Plate over the hole...

Looking a bit better!

... spent the day preparing the scuttle area - removed the old one and patched up a rust spot (well, hole!)....

Repaired, so thought I'd remove the wiper assembly to clean up and then paint the back where I wont be able to get to once the new scuttle goes on....

Been really busy today!!
Painted inside the doors and then investigated the front brakes (them main reason for taking the car off the road in the first place). By the looks of it the front disks have not really been too involved in stopping the car!!

... mmm, looks a bit rusty!

... i'm sure these should be shiny ish??!!

.. all cleaned up on one side with a new brake disk... just waiting for the caliper. I'll probably get reconditioned ones from DSN as some of the piston have rusted in and they are a tad rough anyway!!

Rob.... you should paint the middle bit of the new disk to stop it from rusting....

Only paint the middle bit "flange" and not the part where the pad go....

This not only stops the rust they also look a lot nicer...
