Re: Project 'Tommy' - 1996 Equinox Spi
Started on the interior today. Got the dashboard sorted - seems to make the car quieter. Plus good news the cowboy I got the car off is starting to cough up - very welcome to the restoration funds!!
Picked up a single rev counter off ebay for £16, then made adjustments to the 2 clocks I already had (moving the indicator)...
Gone mad with the solder iron! but everything is fused!

Fabricate the missing bits off my circuit board!

Sorted!

That's it, he's pretty much done.....!

The dash looks great! that's good you can add the rev gauge on to the existing dials as well! I will do that with mine when it comes to it.

yes I was lucky there was just a rev counter come up without the other two dials, and it matches!

You do need to fiddle moving the indicator light, but nothing major....

That's very nice, I really like that style of carbon fibre dash, glad you could make a circuit for the rev counter...

Re: Project 'Tommy' - 1996 Equinox Spi
yes gumball tidied that up after painting.....
just been over the car and all seems ok apart from a rear radius arm not moving as freely as the other ... not bad, just not the same! it was always a bit tighter than the other one and has freed off loads since driving it.. oh well we'll see what happens!!

Re: Project 'Tommy' - 1996 Equinox Spi
Tommy just passed his MOT!
Only two advisories:
1. Oil leak (suspect most mini's have this??!)
2. o/s inner drivershaft gaiter adrift from pot. Now sorted this with a funky red cable tie!
No mention of my radius arm concern as above!
CO2 seems ok as well:
Fast Idle:
co2 : max 0.2 actual 0.042
HC: max 200 actual 19
Lambda: max 0.970,min 1.030 actual 1.007
Natural Idle:
co2 max: 0.300 actual 0.006
plus really pleased my welding passed!! (that would have been embarrasing!!)
