"Round the UK The Long Way" - RNLI

Post by norfolkminis on Fri Aug 07, 2009 4:35 pm

Saw this in the latest Mini Mag. http://www.stevie-mann.com/mini-rnli/index.htm

Could we as a club support him in anyway? Basically the chap is driving to every RNLI station in britain in 41 days (4279 miles affraid )

He is looking for local clubs/owners to join him on certain legs as he passes our patch.

Looking at the timetable he passes through on Wednesday 30th Sept.
Wells next the sea @ 14.05
Sherringham @ 15.25
Cromer @ 16.10
Happisburgh @ 17.30 (camping in North Walsham)

Hats off to the chap.

Last September I rode my delivery bike round the coast from Hunstanton to London to raise money for the RNLI. So I appreciate the effort this chap is making.

I think some support would be a good idea, Claire has done some fund raising for the Cromer life boat and knows the crew may be able to help out there if wanted, just a thought may be a good spot to meet up with him and follow on the rest of the leg, may be a good photo opportunity for the club too !!!!!!

This was discussed last night at the committee meeting I believe the NMOC will be donating £100 from the proceeds from MiniDay 09.

Most probably at Happisburgh station, But I'm all for meeting up at either Sherringham or Cromer.

If we are meeting up we need to contact him. I have some details, we'll have a chat at the Billingford BBQ

Has anything else happened about this one?? because I joined his fan page on facebook a while ago and got a message through tonight from him saying....

"Hey harry, thanks for following us! are you anywhere near the coast and if so want to convoy it? Cheers simon"

Should I say something about some of us from the club maybe joining in part of the way? Very Happy

I dont think I'm going to be able to make any of the convoy on the 30th now due to the possible arrival of my new toy on that day.

At a push I maybe able to get to the end of the run that day.
