Insurance...
.. getting near the time when I'll need to think about this. Does anyone have any recommendations what to definately look for and avoid when it comes to mini's? - I heard an agreed valuation is essential??
many thanks!!

Re: Insurance...
Been given the form for an agreed valuation from my insurer before but never got round to sorting it out - Should I have done?
I'm with HIC - as advertised on the back of most Mini Mags (well it certainly used to be anyway) I think I pay around £240 fully comp. I have heard people say HIC aren't that great though so I'd also be interested in what everyone has to say.

Re: Insurance...
its not to do with hic its the company they set up for u i have agreed value insurance instead of book price which would be sod all .
list every extra and all parts fitted new that way if anything happens to your car they are replaced with them parts instead of standard cheap ones.
all u do is take 6 photos both sides front and back ,engine, inside,
fill out a few forms and they will agree it within reason.
my cars book price is £300 but agreed value is £4OOO HUGE DIFFERENCE dont asume because u spent £3000 on your car u would get £3000 back always get agreed insurance mine cost £200 fully comp with hic with salvage retension
hope this helps

Re: Insurance...
I was insured with HIC until my accident in 2003. Nothing but trouble with them to be honest. Mainly down to the underwritters Highway Insurance. (there a good clue in their name). over 6mths to get the claim sorted and I still lost 2 yrs NCB for a no fault accident!!!
They underwrite a lot of policies with HIC,Flux, Greenlight, Elephant (I believe Fluxy is in someway connected to HIC now)
I'm personally with NIG (National Insurance Group) through Graham Sykes. He advertises in both mini mags.
But def declare all mods, be it performance or cosmetic.

Re: Insurance...
I'm currently insured with Norwich Union / aviva and it's £1400 roughly but i pay monthly £140
I have declared all the cosmetic mods as well as performance. who knew spotlamps counted as a mod?
